worth buying - MOTOROLA v8 gold or MOTOROLA v8 lux
MOTOROLA v8 gold is best OneThe last premium handset to come out of the Motorola camp was in fact a designer phone in the form of the D&G (Dolce and Gabanna) Motorola RAZR V3, so it comes as no surprise that die hard Motorola fans are extremely excited about the news that the manufacturer has now released a new premium handset.
The Motorola RAZR2 V8 was originally launched some months ago with a aggressive advertising campaign across many forms of media, the TV adverts showcased the exterior touchscreen controls for the embedded music player software to the bemusement of two guys sitting around a table - not exactly a stylish advert but the handset has been seeing steady sales.
Now, to bolster the range, the manufacturer has launched the new Motorola RAZR2 V8 Luxury Gold Edition, a bit of a mouthful you might agree?
But for ease this can easily be shortened to: Motorola V8 Luxury, Motorola V8 Gold or simply Luxury Motorola phone.
This new model holds exactly the same features as the original but the exterior has been completely redesigned using materials and precious metals for that luxurious feel.
Still present is the 2.0 megapixel camera with flash, 8 x digital zoom and up to 2 hours of video record time, as is the 2GB of storage space for up to 100 songs uploaded onto the integrated MP3 player.
The RAZR2 also features one of the largest external screens available on a flip phone, the 2 inch full colour screen features touch sensitive keys which allow the user to control the music player as well as select and view text messages without having to open the handset.
The internal screen is slightly larger at 2.2 inches and is ideal for browsing the internet with the Opera 8.5 web browser using 262,000 colours.
The RAZR2 also offers Crystal TalkTM technology producing crisp and crystal clear audio for conversation and music playing.
The main body of the front flip of the phone is finished in black metallic whilst the outside edges feature a diamond-cut pattern. The main navigational wheel offers a linear etching and on the rear of the phone is a soft touch, (leather-like) snakeskin effect.
This all adds to the overall luxurious feel but when you find out that the gold coloured accents are in fact manufactured from REAL 18k and 24k gold this handset becomes a serious fashion and class statement. There is even a Motorola H680 Bluetooth headset with 18k gold plated accents included in the sales package!
This is a far cry from the original RAZR V3 series handsets of yester-year, the overall dimensions are slimmer, the features are far more advanced and the design has been improved dramatically, not to mention the new technology that the RAZR2 offers over the previous RAZR.
Motorola have managed to cram all of this extra exterior design into just 12mm depth making RAZR2 Luxury one of the slimmest premium handsets available, the phone was originally launched on Orange but is now also available on O2 with further network launched expected very soon.
